Piano posture

Somehow a lot (warning: not actually verified) of real pianists (note: i am not a real pianist) sit a lot farther away from the piano than I do. Their legs make something like a 120-degree angle to get to the pedal. I can’t do that. It’s probably better technique to do that, but I’m pretty sure I can’t–it’s just too weird. I’m so used to being closer, that if I try to sit down at a piano after some “real pianist” has played on it, I feel this sense of unease; it’s just -wrong- how I have to reach for the keys–they should be just right there, like an extension of my body…a more intimate feeling…

But there’s no way that I can be right and they can be wrong. I’m just saying that’s the way I am.
